I have spent some time writing up a paper about color in PhotoShop and could use a lil help in editing. IMHO it's actually got some interesting stuff.

Well I don't really see where it relates to PS. You might want to check your spelling under the "resources" heading on your website. Did you really want us to edit or is this an attempt to drive eyes to your website? Sorry for being so cynical.

Well, Eric, to be kind, the first word in the article is "Photoshop". That must be it. But then it goes into the use of numbers in artillery, and Alan Turing (who by the way never used Photoshop), and how numbers are represented in memory.

Forgive me, but someone trying to understand color doesn't need a lesson in computers starting pre-Turing. My suggested edit? Scrap the whole thing, start with an outline, focus the conversation on what is relevant to a modern photographer, then cut-cut-cut.

Final note: posting on DPUG is not the answer to driving traffic to your site!

I saw this post yesterday and decided to let it go as I was short of time to reply. I don't presume any particular motive other than the one stated but my first reaction was - why?

There are already any number of articles on the net and in books that explain colour theory lucidly and to varying degrees of complexity. Sorry but I can't recommend any offhand as it is a long time since I have read any of that stuff simply because I feel that I know as much about colour as I need to know in order to do the things I want to do with digital photography. These days I'd rather read about interesting photography techniques and the new ways people come up with to do things in Photoshop. OzJohn

I don't have a problem with posting a link to an article on a personal blog that has a writeup on something the author feels might benefit our forum members. Heck I do it myself. It beats having to reinvent the wheel and it seems people have no problem with discussing the blog post on the forum thus not loosing any important ideas etc. It just seemed the piece in question was so far removed from the title that it appeared a little suspect to me. If you say you had no ulterior motives I take your work for it.
