I've seen some fresnels for LED sstems, has anyone seen some for plain-ol' bowens-y strobes?

Preferably cheap, because whatever

(Note: odd there's no lighting forum?)

Hi bjorke,
I get great result using a few PAR-16 with dimmable LEDs [mostly for video work] they are very versatile and light weight and very affordable. with a few bolts and DIY screws I made them work on my bowen stands ...hope that helps

On the equipment side, Miscellaneous Equipment sort of fills the bill, but I'll agree that the digital parts of Photrio could use something similar.
On the technique side, I agree!

yeah, I might have to go continuous... the little godox s30/s60 might be okay. Was just wondering of people have been using focusing strobes since my only goal is for stills.... thanks!

I just use a snoot if the setup calls for a highlight. Yes, it wastes a lot of light, but takes only a roll of cinefoil. Sorry, not the same thing as fresnels at all...
The only time I worked with fresnels was with a lighting set built by a friend of mine - all high-powered incandescent; smallest spots were 1kW each. He used to shoot motion picture for commercials and whatnot, so he was kinda into continuous lighting. He gifted me a smaller set including some fresnels, but I ditched the whole kit because I only use strobes.

I might have to go continuous

So much heat. Even with LED. Well, it's OK for still life and other motionless stuff.

Actually, I had not seen this little focusing Godox, the S30 mentioned above -- kind of a lower-power LED dedo? They make a larger one too, video shooters get all the attention. The light is cheaper than a spare AD200!
