I need help in trying to figure out how to make a cheap spot to put some light on a small subject that I want to photograph with my 8x10... I want to make the circle of light about the size of a half dollar or maybe even a quarter size... without it catching on fire to light my subject... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Thanks again... I am only using hot lights no flash...

Make a snoot from a rolled up sheet of black paper and put it on a flashlight with a frosted lens to even out the light patern.

The slide projector is a good idea. AN LED flashlight with 6 or more bulbs should also do the trick
