I've always found gold editions tacky, but this one is just cute: the humble, workaday light meter clad in gilded shoes!

All samples of that model I saw were completely black...


Even the manual shows it that way.

Gold has definitely lost its shine, down around 15% in a month and still falling. He can't be a futures trader, obviously...
This thing is only plated; if it were real 18k you'd be paying thousands for it and the weight ... .
I am not taken in by his florid spiel. Sounds just the type to make a deal that sounds too good to be true.
