Life After 120 PXP

Rats... I am down to my last 5-pack of 120 PXP.

I am curious as to what others using this film have chosen as a replacement. With just a touch of under-exposure / over-development* I am able to get a punchy print: rich blacks and crisp whites.

From posts in the gallery it looks like Fuji Neopan 100 might be the best replacement for me... ?

* xtol 1:1 | 8.25 min | 68F | 10 sec/min agitation

FP4 Plus has been my go-to ISO 125 film since it came out, pretty much. As much as I like Plus-X I always seemed to head back to the Ilford. You might have to tweak your exposure and development regimen a bit but what you want should be there.

Fomapan 100 has beautiful tonality to my eyes, but it is grainy. Still, it is worth experimenting with.

I'm not as knowledgeable about Neopan but the few times I have used it, I have liked it.

Thanks all! I hadn't really considered the Fomapan 100. I will definitely give it a try as well as the Neopan 100. Anyone have a starting dev time for the Fomapan 100 in Xtol 1:1 ?

E.I. 100 Around 8:00 minutes (Xtol 1+1) but the film "rocks" in Rodinal 1+50. E.I. 80 for 7:30 minutes.
Then Fomapan 100 is close to the APX 100 - Rodinal combination. Recommended.

Tmax100?

I used Tmax100 in the past and found it was too contrasty and not worth the effort, especially with the new Tmax400. How do others feel about this film?

Ilford FP4+ works just as well for me, developed in D-76 1:1 just like Plus-X. I used Plus-X for many years in 35mm and 120. Both films give me negatives that are like beautiful little jewels. I don't care for T-Max 100 so much.

There are two different Neopan 100 films. Acros is generally available and is a new tech type film, something like TMax 100.

Then there is Neopan 100 SS, an older type, which is available here and there. There was some talk of it being discontinued, but it's hard to know. It was a film that Barry Thornton liked.

Some vendors seem to have difficulty in distinguishing the two from each other.
