Not mega-bucks and the LF Forum might benefit from some sponsorship/subscribers fees to become more stable.

I think the LF Forum members (not all), moderators and owner, are afraid of taking the step into being slightly commercial to cover better hosting and support. APUG is a good example of how a site can adapt and survive. There's a huge dual membership but the Forums are different and need to remains so.

These are really discussions needed there not here

LFPF goes down more often than a convertible roof in a car in Southern California.

That's an easy joke, but really not true. The have been a flurry of problems recently, but for long periods prior to the last few months the site was stable. The site is up now, and in reply to a question I posted, the moderators said that there is a hardware problem that is being worked on, but there may be more down time until it is resolved. Given the amount of time and effort the moderators and web hosts put in, with no charge to us, we should be appreciative rather than humorous.

As to suggestions on hosting, etc. posted above, it would make sense to communicate directly with the moderators; we members of the forum aren't the appropriate audience.

No, an easy joke would involve hookers on Hollywood Boulevard.

”Opposed” is not the same thing as “afraid.” And there’s no such thing as “slightly” commercial; one either is or isn’t.

…These are really discussions needed there not here…
Actually, the discussion has been repeated there ad nauseum. It’s not needed anywhere.

Yes. Rather than anything!

They now have a message on the site:

The Large Format Forum is currently unavailable.

The LF Forum will be unavailable so we can perform hardware replacement. There's no time estimate now, but will update this as more info becomes available.
Thank you,

I've spent this time patching pinholes, in my graflex crown graphic and Busch model d, making a copal 0 board for my meridian 45b, and loading film, oh and cleaning and antidusting my film holders.... Getting ready to get back into 4x5

Not back for me… Oh well. I got a lot done today. I made two kallitypes and one carbon transfer print, while watching Hockey Day in Canada on the boob tube.

I find it humorous... people actually getting photography done instead of browsing a web site.

Reminds me, need to put the Deardorf kit back together and clean the rb67 stuff (and find that dadburn 150 SF Lens).
