Hi,

I have an Arca Swiss Z1+. It has a bubble level on the top. Is a leveling head unnecessary or beneficial?

Thank you

The bubble on the head tells you the head itself (and camera) are level, but if you need to pan the head the base should be level, not merely the camera. The leveling base makes it easier than trying to adjust tripod legs to achieve level.

+1, leveling the tripod makes it easier to keep the camera level and easier to adjust the tripod head once the camera is in place.
