I think the best way is once everyone signs up, I make groups; probably 5-6 people per group as it stands so far, I don't know maybe more.
Anyway you can make one different slide for every member of your group or you can make the same image on multiple slides. It's up to you. I don't think we'll get 36 people to sign up. I hope I am wrong.

Most mailers have a place for special instructions, and I think if you just wrote "do not cut," they should be able to accommodate you. It's not such an unusual request, since there are others shooting 35mm panoramic formats and some prefer unmounted transparencies both for enlarging and scanning.
Hi Michael,OK, somebody lay out the details of how this all works for me, please.
Hi Michael,
I keep forgetting that not everyone understands how a group exchange works. Here goes ....
Hope that explains.
- I asks people to to participate in a group exchange
- People sign up in this thread by October 31
- People shoot Kodachrome and get it developed
- I place people into groups of 5 or 6 people
- Participants in each group send a private message (PM) to each other their real names and mailing address
- Participants in each group mail each other member of their group a slide (or two) by November 30
- Everyone enjoys the slides they recieve from other members of their group
- Everyone post messages in this thread how exciting and wonderful the slides they recieve are abd that we should do this again
- It's Christmas!
Regards, Art.
Art,
Sounds like a gr8 idea but...to me it would be like giving your negatives away. With a print exchange at least you get to keep the soul of the image, the negative, but a slide exchange you'll be left with only the memory of what you shot. But on the other hand such an exchange would be substantially more significant, more meaningful.

I'm afraid I'm with Terry on this one. I would never give away an original. But it is a pretty cool idea for those that don't mind.
- Thomas
Well, I wouldn't give away an original that I have already shot. But shooting a few rolls of Kodachrome *knowing* that you will give away (well, swap) some of the shots... That just means taking some shots twice, so that you can give away one original and keep another... At least, that's how I see it.
Whaddayaallsay? Thoughts and feedback first. If there's enough positive feedback, then I can organize it too. Use the poll option - no fence sitters.

4 WEEKS??!!
That's what the local shop said the turn around time will be.
Depending on the price delta, you might look into sending directly to Dwayne's. I'm located in western Washington state and get mine back in five days. If I can get them out on a Monday (as I did this morning with my latest batch), I receive them back on the following Saturday.
