Lets Here About The Good Guys Out There

I just got back my 240mm Componon-S from SK Grimes. They fabricated a lens flange and mounted to a Beseler Lens board (Yes, it will fit onto a 4x4 board) that fits into an adapter I had for my Elwood 8 x10 enlarger. I don't know what we do without these specialty shops that do such beautiful work for such a reasonable price. It is so cool. A work of art! I have a couple of other things that I have got from them in the past.
Another good place is University Camera in Iowa City Iowa, Roger has had this place for 40 years . They still develop color and black and white film (Got rid of E-6 a few years back) I picked up a Beseler Neg-a-flat holder there the other day. That's not something that you will find in most shops.

I was a Good Guy today.

Local photography shop around here still develops C-41 and E-6 but most of their foot traffic is digital and disposables. I frequent them for odds and ends once in a while. The owner called me up today saying he had a customer with a camera that he could not rewind. It was an OM-1.

I straightened him out as to where the rewind toggle is and told him to look at the bottom and tell the customer to cover the MD hole with some tape.

I had no clue the owner had my number on file as 'Film Dude'
