Les McLean/ Texas Workshop Print Exchange

I just got your print from the mailman a few minutes ago.

What can I say? It's a stunning image and print. Maybe I missed it at the Meet and Greet from the workshop, but I'd love to hear the narrative of you finding these images, and how you came to find your particular creative voice.

You guys are bumping "build picture rails" way up on my list of priorities!

Received Krystyna's prints

Well your prints arrived in fine shape Krystyna and they are beautiful.

I will get with Todd and we'll fight over who gets what.

Valarie, I have prints for Les. Hope you haven't sent those off as yet. I have been in Hawaii for several weeks (sorry it was only work).

This was a lot of fun.
 
They haven't gone to the mail yet, Steve. Anyone else have a print to add (if you havent sent it already)? I'd like to get the photos mailed to Les by Dec 1.
 
Valerie, might I suggest that you talk to David Brown about the possiblity of him bringing over the unmounted prints when he visits the UK later in Dec. If he agrees to bring them I will send mine back with him.

Well, a neat thing happened today. I received from Valerie her print and one from Les. thank you both.

The great thing about this coming so late was that I don't think anybody expected it. So it's turned out to be Christmas in May!

Valerie, the thing I remember about you was how understated and modest you were about her work. Then when you pulled out your prints, of course eveyone was blown away. This print just sent is really fine, and I am proud to own it. Thanks again.

Mahalo and Aloha to Les. I now have a modest collection of your work.

Until our paths cross again.
 
I just got mine from Valerie and Les yesterday. Wonderful images from both of you! Valerie, wonderful portrait like you do so well! And Les, well it is Les so all I can say is sweet Hog! Thank you both!

Kevin's photo came today

Well the hits keep on coming. Thanks for the nice surprise today, Kevin. That's a great image. Your letter seems so apologetic for the timing, but I thinks it's perfect.
 
Kevin's photo arrived here as well........and sits alongside his wife Dianna's (from the group exchange)!! Lovely indeed!
 
I just got back from the mountains to find a print from Kevin waiting for me! Wonderful image! And no need for the apologies. You sent a print and that's what matters to me!

I just retrieve the mail and sure enough a wonderful print from Kevin. This is a wonderful image as I have been focused on photographing people so the timing is perfect. Thanks Kevin (aka deadbeat )

cool! Yeah, I felt like I wanted to do a people shot since I had zippo to share for portfolio review during the workshop, so probably the only thing most of y'all have seen of mine is that propeller shot.

Big Thanks, with apologies to Val & Les...

Dear Friends,

I got the mail on Saturday and what a wonderful surprise, a photo from Kevin, it's Christmas in August, thank you so much, and I love it, a beautiful sensitive portrait, Kevin, you are waaaaay too modest!

...and then a lightbulb goes on, and I recall another photo package, that I put aside for safekeeping and like a dope forgot all about, but I found it again, and my apologies to Val & Les!, and my belated thank yous!, for two more beautiful photographs to add to my collection and memory of a wonderful time spent in Texas!

You are all an inspiration!

I too received Kevin's excellent portrait, many thanks. I will add it to the growing number of prints I have collected from photographers who have attended my workshops. Every time I spend a couple of hours looking at them I can recall the person, the workshop and even some of the conversations. It's a great way to remember the people I meet on my travels, thanks again Kevin.
