www.HamiltonBook.com, Falls Village, CT 06031 USA, a discount book store with remainders (new unsold books), has Les McLean’s, Creative Black & White Photography, their number 747430X, originally priced at $24.99 for $6.95 plus shipping and credit card charge.

Search APUG on the title for reviews. I particularly like the part on split grade printing, but that is only one or two pages of an excellent text.

I agree - it is a very good and well-written book. $6.95 is a steal.

Great...................."We ship only to addresses in the United States"

Oh well. I had to pay $24.99 when I bought it. At least I got Les to sign it and have dinner with him in Toronto at APUG #1.

Just ordered it - I have a lot of respect for Les McLean's work. I'm looking forward to getting the book.

Thanks for the heads up.

Nice site, I've linked some american friends, but no international shipping is always a kicker in this day and age. It's on my ever growing list of books to buy, we have it in our library.

Another copy ordered. The poor fellows at Hamilton Book will be scratching their heads trying to figure out why the late inning run on this title...

A well written text by a excellent teacher!

Earlier this week, I was at the local used book "megastore", here in Dallas. They had two copies of Les' book. Anybody in North Texas that wants one - go to the Half-Price Books on Northwest Hwy!

Why has it been discontinued? Creativity no longer something people interested in or what?

This is probably a 'remaindered' book, meaning that it's still selling, but the publisher can't depreciate remaining stocks for tax purposes in the way they'd prefer, so the incentive is to close out inventory at a loss to free up warehouse space.

Sometimes this is also done in preparation for publishing a newer edition, but I have no knowledge of whether Les has a second edition coming out.
