I have a LensCoat RainCoat that I purchase a while (years) ago but never used. The other day, I opened the package only to discover the entire lining was sticky, rendering it pretty useless. I have run into problems with plastics outgassing before and sometimes have been able to clean things up with some alcohol (on the plastic, not drinking it--but that might be a better idea!).

I tried contacting the manufacturer, but I haven't had any response yet. Any ideas on how to get rid of the stickiness, or should I just forget about it (and have a few drinks).

This is the typical decay of PU-lining of Nylon etc. textiles.

I experienced that at all my hiking equipment of about 25years old by different manufacturers. I assume my somewhat younger Loewe cases will start to deteriorate in a few years too, at one case a fake suede leather part already did and I cut it off.

The resulting mess from such stickiness transferred to other nylon textile can be wiped off for instance with a Acetone/Ethanol mixture. But concerning the actual lining I think tossing the whole thing is the best solution.
