It is quite funny, because I am italian and it should be easier for me to find informations just walking around, but here I am with my question:
I have a 5x7 Fatif DS and I have only one lensboard, an original Fatif lensboard.
There is a hole drilled in the board that is about 60mm, and the hole has a thread (is it this the right word to use?). Normally my lensboards from Linhof have not this thread. I need a lens for my Fatif and I need to find out what kind of Copal I need and how is the correct way to mount a lens+shutter on this kind of lensboard.
Thank you very much
Buonasera,
Carlo

Carlo you need to first choose the lens you want. The lens will come with a shutter. What ever shutter it comes with will decide what board you need.

Any chance you can find an adapter that will allow you to use Linhof boards on your Fatif? That way you could keep your lenses on one board.

Those are the hole sizes. But first you need to decide on the lens.

You are right, I decided to have a multipurpose lens for a 5x7 and I think I should look for a 240mm (but since I have a reducing 4x5 back, maybe I should look for some different lens.)

I love Fatif, I always worked with a 4x5 one and it was great. I rent it.
I am sorry not to be able to help you, I think Fatif is still in the photo business, maybe you can email them.

I phone them and they are very nice.
They are still producing the DS2 and they have boards and GG and so on.
Thank you

I apologie for my previous question.
I just realised that Fatif lensboard are perfectly normal, the thread thing was on a ring screwed to the original lensboard. I realised, also, that the hole drilled in the lensboard was not such a perfect round hole, that's why (probably) the previous owner put a ring on it.
Thank you,
Ciao
