Lens Shade for 55 mm lens for Mamiya TLR

I have had a 55 mm wide angle lens for my Mamiya TLRs (C 330s) for several years. It is otherwise a fine lens but it is prone to flare at times, especially in the bright New Mexico sun. I have not been able to track down anywhere the lens shade Mamiya made for this lens. Does anyone know of any other lens shades that will work on this lens or how to improvise a lens shade that will be effective in reducing flare?

For my 65mm lens, I just use the same wide angle shade that I use for my 24mm Nikkor. I have a step up ring to 52mm for the lens so I can use the filters I already have so the lens shade just screws right in. It impinges on the bottom of the viewing lens slightly, but it’s not that big of a deal. If anything you can view and compose without it and then screw it in before you take the photo.

Not the most elegant solution, but it is the cheapest.

Can you point me to a photo of the shade? I just came across a Mamiya shade in my "odds and ends" drawer. It's a bit unusual in that the shade has female, not male threads.

I am surprised that a shade designed for a 24mm Nikkor doesn't vignette the 55mm lens on a Mamiya TLR.
The field of view of that 24mm lens is a lot wider than the field of view of the 55mm TLR lens.

Well, as I said I use it on my 65mm not 55mm. But, why would a shade designed for a wider focal FOV vignette on a lens with a narrower FOV? Wouldn’t the opposite be true?

Thank you everyone. I just ordered a 46 mm to 52 mm step-up ring. I have the very same 24mm Nikkor lens shade that should screw right into the 52 mm end of the ring. I have some rubber lens shades that are also made for 52 mm filter mount. It was great to sign up for this site, post my thread, and get a solution within an hour. Thanks again.

The opposite is indeed true but it is also true that using a lens hood designed for a wider FOV will not be completely effective as a lens hood for a narrower FOV.

I've used this lens since the 90's and the best I found is the 46 to 52mm with the HN-1 as others have mentioned. I do use thin Nikkor yellow filters and it can clip the corners at f/11+ but I mostly shoot without a filter.
