Lens repairer in the UK ?

Can anyone please recommend a reliable lens repairer iin the UK ?
I have been given a virtually mint Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar, f3.5, 135mm, ecrew fit, which has not been used for many years, and the focussing ring is stuck., presumably from congealed lubricant,

if you google and search YouTube for lens cleaning, you'll fina a guy in the UK who makes youtube videos about lens cleaning and repair, judging from his voice, he's from Essex.

Never heard of them, which is an alarm given I'm in the UK, but how you justify the 'most popular in the world' is troubling unless you've done business with them? Given you have two posts on the forum I'm inclined to think your input is hyperbole and I'm saying this because there is something ongoing and fishy about a particular repair person operating in the UK.

hah fair enough, but nah I have only asked them questions on instagram (since they don't service stuff outside the EU last I checked). I just assumed they were famous since they are all over my instagram feed and I believe they showed up on the bbc show "The Repair Shop" as well

I would go on google maps and search for camera repair shops in your immediate area so that you can spend your money locally and help keep your local camera shops doors open in case you ever have need of one.

Thanks, my scepticism has been abated, and yes he's been on the BBC, and not even on a talent show, but for doing something he is actually good at, repairing cameras!

I've never heard of them either .
I'd rather trust someone that people have heard off and has had good experiences , than an unknown.

The Repair Shop has been broadcast in many viewing markets… so most popular/famous in the world may be possible. LOL

The TV program " Repair Shop " may well be well known around the world ( but I doubt it !) , but pppcameras isn't

You probably are correct. That show might only be seen in UK and USA. Plus, it seems to have been cancelled. We may be seeing old episodes in America. When Eastenders was broadcast in America we were seeing 5 year old seasons.

I think it's a current series that's on over here at the moment, though I've never looked at the credits for when it was filmed .
I imagine it's recent .
Maybe the channel your watching it on has cancelled it due to viewing figures ?
You could possibly watch it BBC I player .

With regards to EastEnders , I'd rather be having root canal surgery without anesthetic than watch that !

Another option: https://www.camerarescue.org/contact has a contact in the UK. Again I don't know them personally but CameraRescue is associated with the KameraStore (https://kamerastore.com/en-ca) so that should be a reliable contact.

Newton Ellis services all my Leicas and they are brilliant. Unfortunately you may have to wait over 6 months to get it done.

You could call Aperture in London. I've had nothing but good experiences with their repair services. (They worked on my M3, and a Zeiss lens for Hasselblad V.) Their prices are reasonable--and best thing is, both times I've taken something to them, they've gotten it back to me within two wees. I've had friends use their services, too, and have reported similarly quick turnaround times.
