Hi,
I have been night shooting with 8x10 for some time by now. This actually proves to be challenging for certain reasons. Like last week, when I was out I did not have any artificial light near by, so the only light source was the moon. It is always really hard to focus through GG at night without any light source. Also, because I do not want to wait more than 20 min per shot, I tend to shoot at lower f-stops like F8 or F11 (sometimes wide open). I am about to change films from Tri-X to TMY finally, but I am also looking for a lens to make my life easier.
Here's the conditions:
1) 250mm/10" focal length
2) A large coverage (sometimes when I am moving the camera, I cannot see the fall off on the edge until I process films).
3) No soft images on the edges even at f8 or f11
4) More reasonable the better
I used to use Wide Field Ektar 250mm, which is OK but give me a soft image on the edges at lower f-stops. I just tried Dagor 12" but it was too long for me.
Any suggestion for my situation? Thanks as usual.
Warmly,
Tsuyoshi
