You have to take into account sensor size and the fact that for the same depth of field you are using optimum apertures. I have not tested it but I am fairly confident that my Canon G9 can resolve somewhere around 200 l/mm in the center of the sensor.

But to make a print 12X18 in size you have to blow up that 7mm wide sensor image a lot.

I wouldn't hesitate to print 12x18 with my G10 (if I could ever get out to use it). I think if you need to interpolate a slight amount, the interpolation feature with ACR seems to work very well.

I have made some very nice prints of 12X16" with my G9, with very little interpolation.

Pretty amazing IMO. No, does not compare to Mamiya 7II, but not bad.
