Does the Leitz Valoy I take the same negative holder as the Valoy II & Focomat 1C? Thank you.

I looked at the photo you posted in your other thread. It looks like it takes the same holder. @Hilo would know for certain (I'm almost certain he would, anyway).

Actually, I do not know. I never saw the original Valoy. There's one for sale on German Ebay and the negative holder they show looks the same as those for the Valoy II and Ic.

I probably have nearly all the negative holders for the Ic and the Valoy II and as far as I know they are interchangeable.

From looking at this enlarger, what I find interesting is that it shares certain designs with the Focomat Ic, but not with the Valoy II. Like the lever that lowers the condenser on to the negative. That's typically Ic, but it was redesigned for the Valoy II which uses a simpler bayonet system.

The main advantage of your Valoy and the later Valoy II enlargers is their beautiful large helicoid that holds the lens and is used to focus. I assume yours is as precise as the one of the Valoy II. The automatic focus of the Ic is nice, but also limiting. That Valoy helicoid is brilliant. If it doesn't turn smoothly, you should clean it and apply new grease. . .

Thank you. I’m in touch with KIENZLE -phototeknik about a carrier. I appreciate your insights. KIENZLE was able to supply me with negative stage glass and 35mm and 21/4 mask for my primos TR66 enlarger.(see photo)
