I have a V35, use it all the time, but my question is in regard to the lamp. Philips make a special 75watt lamp which is only for the V35. They appear to have stopped making them, at least they are no longer available from the agent in Australia. You can use a normal 75wIQ in them, but the output is greatly reduced. I guess my question is, are they available elsewhere? Has someone got a huge stock that they want to part with? I'm down to my last spare, so thought that I would do a search now. The last two that I bought cost $50.00 each, so price doesn't scare me!

If you contact a Leitz service center (I only know the one in the US in New Jersey), they may have the larger bulb base that you use to replace the old one holding the smaller lamp. You can then use the larger lamps (don't have the specs in front of me here at the office!), but I ordered one just a few months ago, it cost about US$ 100, and I can now use the larger base Philips bulbs that are widely available. You might try that . . .

Good luck! And Happy New Year!

Buy in UK

12v 75w EFN seem to be available for about £10 sterling here, including postage, from UK internet suppliers. I paid more a few years ago after ordering from a local lighting shop. Not generally put about is that the angle of beam varies; I bought a 12v 75w bulb from a DIY store, thinking it would do, which covered 38 degrees; the EFN covers 15 degrees, and after finding this out I bought another 12v 75w bulb which covers 15 degrees; but it has a cobblestone reflector whilst the EFN has a smooth one; haven't tried either out but suspect both smoothnness of reflector and angle of beam could affect light transfer, hence disappointing result with non-spec bulbs.

I have managed to track down some lamps with the right number, thanks to Frank. I await those to see if they are indeed correct.
It's interesting about the coverage, explains why the same wattage lamp of the incorrect type, throws so much less light.
