Hi everybody,
Recently I bought a Leitz II a color and I would like to resell it do you know what would be its value, its in very good condition, there are 2 lenses 5 cm 4.5 & 9.5 cm 4.5, the lenses have some scratches but the condenser is very clean and clear, there is two other problem as well first I don't see any wheel for focusing and I don't know how to pull out completely the film holder.
Thanks in advance
There is no focussing knob, as this is a autofocus enlarger.
There likely is an override function at the lens barrels which enable one to focus maually by twisting the barrel helicoid.
This is the Focomat 2a you have. It came before the Focomat 2c. I don't know the 2a well but probably it is like the 2c which has automatic focus as long as the parallelogram is in the appropriate position. When you go up and down with the enlarger it remains in focus, or close to it. But you do need to check with a grain focuser while you turn the helicoid. All very easy.
Here in Europe the 2a goes for € 200 - 400 . . A difficult enlarger to sell. Yours is nice because it comes with the filter tray. Most 2a's don't. The advantage of the 2a over the 2c is the negative holder is a bit larger. This negative holder should come out. Check if something on either side prevents it. Otherwise push it back in and pull harder . . .
Might it be best to dismantle the head first? I'd be worried about scratching the condenser. The neg carrier is supposed to be easy to remove so either something foreign is in there or else something is bent out of shape.
