Between a bunch of Focomat Ic condensers I found one of them to be smaller than the others. I have no idea how I got it.
Does anyone know for which Leitz enlarger the smaller condenser could be? An earlier version Focomat?

Thanks !

Not the Valoy II. But yes, perhaps the earlier one(s).

Still, since it it so close to the Ic I believe the Focomat is more probable. It fits in there, but does not land low enough to touch the negative. This has made me wonder if it is perhaps for a special negative holder, a much thicker design than the normal ones for the Ic.

Thanks Chip !

I don't have the early Valoy, only the Valoy II and that one's condenser certainly looks like it is from the same family.

But the condenser of the Valoy II is quite different from the Ic's condenser: mostly because you fix it in from below using a bayonet. Many Valoy II owners are not aware of this and remove it from above, taking out screws and a ring. All you need to do is push up the condenser, turn it a bit and let it drop in your hand. Putting it back is just pushing it up and turn it . . .

With your older Valoy, how is the condenser installed? If it is not too much hassle can you show me a picture of this condenser? No problem if you can't, I can ask someone else too.

You already posted a pic of what I said was the Valoy condenser. The Valoy has 3 screws at the top to adjust the bulb, just like the 1c--the Valoy 2 has no way to adjust the bulb, as far as I can tell. I have a 2 also, but haven't got around to restoring it.

Thanks Chip, appreciated !

The Valoy II does have a (more) minimal way to center the bulb: when you loosen the socket on the outside of the lamp head, you can actually move around the socket inside and fix again. It is quite easy. But you can't move the socket up and down like with the Ic. Despite that I find the Valoy II easier to center than the Ic and it is less likely to suffer from any light fall-off.
