I have a Leitz Eldia Film Copier.
Basically a camera body with two spools for the unexposed film and a hinged flap to hold the negative to be copied in contact with the unexposed frame.
Exposure is made just like contact printing.
I have some Kodalith film that is safe under a red darkroom light and will load a length to see how things work out.

Does anyone familiar with the Leitz Eldia know what the red glass window below the negative and unexposed film is for

It has been raised before on the internet by others, but no one seems to have a feasible use for the red window. The window is on the back side of the unexposed film.
The only idea that I can think of is to see when the roll of unexposed film has run out.

In the past strips of photo paper having sprocket holes along the edges were available. Possibly some use there?

Any Ideas would be most welcome.
Thank you.
