In the 2/2005 issue of Leica World Magazine, they state that Agfa, Rollei and Maco are going to be producing film under the Rollei name that will be available in Fall 2006.

Is this the Rollei film that is currently available in Europe?

It also states that Agfa is not out of the game, so to speak. Is this true or outdated?

I think Rollei and Maco are just distributors that don't actually manufacture any film. So is this film that's being manufactured in an ex-Agfa plant or perhaps an ex-Orwo (which was the East German half of Agfa) plant?

According to Fotohuis in (there was a url link here which no longer exists), the Rollei film is the same as the old Agfa APX. I haven't had a chance to try yet, but I will.

The mystery of exactly where these films originate has been commented on in various threads and the position seems as clear as mud. Forte seem to be involved with the finishing but if Agfa were involved at some point then it isn't likely that these films are going to be around for a great while. Their continuing availability (or not) is perhaps a lot more important than exactly who is involved in their manufacture.
