Hi, I'm looking for a clean working collapsible 50mm lens in LTM mount. Either Leica Summitar 50/2 or Canon Serenar 50/1.9 will work. Cosmetics is not important but glass needs to be clean, since I'm looking for a user lens.

Background: I have a Zorki 1 with FED 50/3.5 collapsible and love its size, and I also have Leica M3 with Rigid Summicron. I'm looking for something in between for the compact LTM body, thus the collapsible Summitar or Serenar.

With ltm to M adapter a toss up … pick the nicest one. Because of difference in flange to film difference between Leica-Canon and Soviet cameras, 50mm will not perform at optimum. Either stick with Russian lenses, or upgrade to a Canon ltm camera. That would be a transition to a more reliable and rugged camera.

Thanks for the tip about difference in flange distance between FSU and Leica/Canon LTM Bodies, totally didn't know that.

I will try the lens on M3 first with adapter, and go for a Leica/Canon LTM body later if I like the lens.
