Seeing that they are releasing the new M6 due to overwhelming demand. Why not also release a line of films to go with it?
Obviously rebranding.

Leicachrome for the reversal films - E100 or Ektachrome 100d respooled.

Leicaclassic for B&W - Leicaclassic HC (high contrast) which would be the amazing Catlabs 320 Pro
- Leicaclassic 400 which would be Kentmere 400 (gives that old school 400 vibe)
- Leicaclassic 125 which would be FP4

Leicacolor for color - Leicacolor 400 which would be Cinestill 400d
- Leicacolor 200 which would be Fuji 200 or Kodak 200

Mark up the price by 50-100% for the privilege of using genuine Leica film in your genuine Leica. Provide mailers for TheDarkroom (or whatever other lab). Make money promoting film.

I'm all for it. They probably need to bump up their sales, what w/ digital and all. 200% markup sounds more realistic.

"You're special. You deserve the best. Shoot only Leica brand films in your Leica cameras for the best results (and to avoid warranty problems). Films available only to authorized Leica users. Sales receipt, a nice watch and I.D. required."

I just yesterday ordered 10 rolls of TMY and 10 rolls of TMX. That's enough b&w 35mm to last me a couple years.

The film cassette will, of course, have a red dot on it, right?

And of course cost twice as much as the same film that is not rebranded. Or 3 times as much and come in the silver aluminum canister that Agfa used to use way back.

I want new reloadable brass film cartridges. That and the little reloads that came spooled with paper wrapped around the film so you could recharge the brass cartridge without a darkroom. Oh how cool that would be.

Also change the sprocket size and spacing so no other cameras could use the new film.

I’m sure that Leica could bring back Kodachrome, or a modern equivalent!

Leica film? Yea, but who would want to pay $50 for a roll of rebranded 35mm film?

Leica could sell a camera preloaded with 35mm film (that would avoid all those threads about to load Leicas). Then when you finish the film, you send the camera back to Leica, and they send you your prints, and the camera with a new roll of film loaded (and a CLA if necessary). You push the button, they do the rest.

Someone on youtube will still post a video screwing something up.

Zingo! What a great idea. Leica could use a guy like you in their marketing department. To make it even more unique, the film should only be available at Leica Boutique stores.

Maybe Leica & Apple could merge.
