Leica MP's 'sharkskin' covering is really a poor choice by Leica. It looks nice but is extremely slippery.
I am thinking about replacing it with one of Aki Asahi's custom covers. I hope those are more grippy.

How difficult is it to get the sharkskin off?
I asked at the local Leica store and they quoted me 350 USD to replace it with the M9 covering.

Or a Ja wrist strap.
If the covering is like a M2's it only comes off a little bit at time.

You might consider the Griptac from Camera leather.

Maybe to buy some ever ready half case?

I thought that the correct technical name is "never ready" case. At least that was my experience.

Resale value reduces...

The half cases are useful if you drop as are the mini grips.

I've had to glue a mini grip from bits and adjust a rangefinder when the camera landed grip down. It was a cheap non Leica grip.

The add on rewinder levers are useful too, as well as speeding up rewind...

For what it's worth. This is what #4008 form Aki Asahi looks like.
It's super cheap, easy to apply and really grippy.
2400 JPY including shipping.
Taking the sharkskin off is a piece of cake. It peels right off in once piece if you warm it up a little bit.
