I have Leica Minizoom with Vario Elmar 35-70 and it was sold at 1990s for 550 dollars , one full national geographic article was photographed with it , portra is the only film suits to it , no street photography camera because it sets the aperture to tight , speed to slow , I would use 400 asa or higher asa speeds. Its a Leica , wonderful colors , real classy colors and tones and damn sharp , but if you shoot cheap photographs , no camera helps you , I saw a man bought a 11000 dollars noctilux and takes his refrigirator pictures and ask how was the lens performs.
Vario is the first zoom made by Leica and I used 3, 5 cms f:3.5 elmar and bw shadow pictures are excellent , colors turns to flame color with color film when you go to dark hot filament light and I mostly love it.
I think you would not be able to control anything but 1 stop margin with buttons.
Its a dx ,and you need to be caeful when putting your home spun films.
