Hi,

Other than the Nikon SC-17, does anyone know what cord could be used with the SF-24 for off camera flash use? I've read that the SC-28 is a replacement for the SC-17 and could be used. Anyone have any experience using anything else? Any advice appreciated...

At the risk of once again being a dummy, I would ask "Does not the Leica M7 have a pc connector"? If it does have a pc connector then off camera flash with an Leica M7 is usuable with the great majority of electronic flashes thru the use of a long pc cord.

To me the most flexible use of flash comes from the units that offer a power ratio control from full power to 1/32 power or less in a stepless fashion. These units used skillfuly are fully capable of doing most of the things that a highly automated electronic flash can. It does though pass the requirement from a circuit board and sensor to a photographer's skill and experience.

Yes Claire, there is a pc socket. I'm assuming using a flash through the pc socket would require manual use of the flash?

Actually, I've got an SF-24 already and that's the flash I want to use. It's small, light, and I'm shooting very close so I don't require a lot of power. Thanks for the response though.
