Hello Dear Leica owners,

i'm looking for a backup camera which i'm going to put in a backpack. The switch on m7 will surely block all camera's operations, no accidential trigger possible. What about partitially mechanical m6 and m6 ttl? Does 'bulb' position only locks meter but not shutter? What 'off' does on the TTL model?

M6 and M6ttl are mechanical. The battery is only for the meter. Both cameras are fully functional without battery . The off switch on M6 cameras is only for meter. NO shutter release lock. If you don't want it to go off in your backpack, don't cock it.
One good reason to keep a battery in the M6ttl is that if you forget and leave the lens cap on, the low light arrow flashes, kind of obvious.

You need a camera with a lockable shutter button then if you can't leave it uncocked.
