I just finished the first roll through a new-to-me Leica M6. Instead of stopping firm at the end of the roll, the film advance kinda stutters and the advance lever can still be mov ed through its whole range of motion - cocking the shutter and allowing "exposures" to be made past the end of roll.

Is this normal or should I send this one back to seller?

Further info, this is an early serial number M6, according to a couple of serial number lists I've found on-line, it is from the first batch of 2000. The seller supplied documentation indicating that DAG serviced it earlier this year.

I've calmed myself down a bit abnd upon further reflection, Geez! of course it's not normal. What a dumb question. I should have taken a hint when the shutter release button refused to trip the shutter.

Ran a second roll though it...everything seems fine.

Operator issue.

The term you are looking for is Oaf, as in Operator Assisted Failure. <<wink, wink>>
