FOR Sale: Leica M2R with Preview Lever and Self Timer
This Leica M2R is not a shelf queen.
Having said that, it's not been abused, just used.
There is a ding on the top left front corner, as well as some normal cosmetic signs of use.
The rangefinder/viewfinder is SUPERB with a high contrast image and accurate rangefinder patch.....no dust, no broken frame lines, no fog.
The 35-50-90 frame lines are clear, bright and unbroken. The rangefinder patch lines up perfectly.
The shutter, film advance/rewind, self-timer, and frame counter are all in proper working order.
The vulcanite is completely intact. The original Leitz Wetzlar "L" seal is untouched.
This M2R has never been serviced.
This Leica M2R is ready to shoot or add to your Leica collection.

More pictures of the M2R to follow.
In 1960, the US Army ordered 2,000 Leica M2 cameras with a special rapid-load take-up spool, and later cancelled the order. The cameras #1248201 to #1250200 were finally designated M2-R and sold to the general public by Leitz New York in 1969.
The M2R is the ultimate M2, in my opinion.
This camera has the original "L" seal, still intact, indicating that this camera has never been opened for servicing since it was manufactured in 1969.
Just checked the high speeds, 1/1000 and 1/500.
They seem to cap too fast; perhaps using the camera would correct this.
But maybe not. So, I'm reducing the price to $2875, net.
