Well, yes I did have the 50mm Summicron. And the lenscap was in my pocket so it didn't interfere. Every shot was properly exposed as I used the Sekonic Twin-Mate in both incident and reflected mode to confirm readings. But I do not think any of the photographs I took (unless I was lucky) will be interesting. We walked San Francisco, I took photos of my daughter ice-skating at the Embarcadero. A couple shots in St. Mary's in Chinatown... but that's about all. I missed a chance to photograph a photographer I'd met.
I taught my daughter a new trick. As I focus, I told her to walk towards and away from me repeatedly. That, I assured her, would guarantee that I would be totally unable to take a picture of her. Because it would be impossible to focus.
When she got onto the rink, she forgot that lesson - because she was focusing so much attention on her feet. Maybe I did get a shot or two.
