Hi APUGers!

Since I got my M2 I wanted to couple it with a "damaged" Summitar 50 with M39 mount. So I ordered a cheap Fotodiox adapter (in this case is for 50 & 75mm lenses), because can't afford the expensive original one.
My adapter fits well on the mount and engage rightly the 50mm frame in the viewfinder & rangefinder. I used a cheap asian lens hood too, instead of the original one...
The Summitar albeit damaged (it has many large spots, from bad cleaning, on the inner lense) performed very well, as you can judge on the images.

The summitar is a mighty fine lens. I love its character. Low contrast but sharp with great oof rendering. Might be worth it to send it off for a proper cleaning/restoration.

Yep... I'm loving its character too....
Regarding restoration, the lens isn't mine but of a friend who gave me to use (indefinitely... as he has another one... undamaged ) and I'm not sure that the possible gain of I.Q. will worth the cost of a service.
