This Leica M2 is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Third and last type with lever rewind release and self timer. Window is clear and RF is bright and contrasty. Sold to me as having a CLA which is evident by the wind and shutter release (you can easily tell the difference between a camera that hasn't had a CLA in 10 years or more and one that has). Lens not included but available for $650 is anyone is interested.

This is a beauty! Even the chrome above the strap eyelet is clean. Fabulous.

I have a M2 of about the same serial number. On mine, the vulcanite has become brittle and I've reglued a few pieces. One day mine will need a new cover (snakeskin? ostrich? purple?).

Yeah i saw that, extremely hard to find one in this kind of shape. and no marks whatsoever on the back door or bottom plate… would have to call this near mint.

I consider the M3, M2, and M4 the highest level of mechanical perfection. You don't see 50+ year old Leica cameras coming up for sale in this condition often. From the cosmetics you can see it wasn't used much, if at all. The recent (less than a year) CLA has replaced all the lubricants so it should be good to go for another 50 years. Better than any M4-2, M4-P or M6.

Wish I could buy that M2. Too many unexpected expenses this year already!
@Kodachromeguy, yesterday I saw a very nice IIIg (with collapsible Summicron) at Monument Camera in Tucson.
