Leica (?) lens mount adapter

I've got a lens-to-camera adapter that I can't find in any of the lens mount ID sites. So here is your puzzle-of-the-day. I'm sure someone can ID by sight. Here are three shots -- front, rear & side.

It's hard to know with is the back (camera side) and which is the front (lens side), so I'll just say:

One side has a male Leica L39 screw mount -- the back?. The other side has a female Leica L39 screw mount (inside) AND a three prong bayonet connection (outside) -- the front?

It is unmarked in any way.

Any ideas?

I think it's a Leica m mount to adapt the Canon 7 lens an other screw mount to leica. Should fit the leica m8 and 9 etc

The Canon 7 used the Leica L39 screw mount. All this adapter would do would create extension, and there's no use for the bayonet mount -- the bayonet is too small to be used with Canon FD/FL lenses.

The Canon 7 had both an M39 and a bayonet mount for the 50mm 0.95 lens.

OK, but how does that help ID this adapter? All it would do would add extension to any L39mm lens or the 50mm 0.95.

Maybe it's to attach a LTM camera to some kind of device - like an oscilloscope or similar - with some intermediate attachment to a lens.

My thought was a visoflex, but that has 4 lugs, not 3.

The visoflex I had ordinary LTm threads while the VFII and III attached to the M´via an ordinary male M-bayonet, without any extension amd the differemces betwteen the TM and BM was very small. so it would not be useful for that. Also the adapter has what looks like a female M42 thread and the thickness could match the diffenece between the Leica ca 28mm rear focus amd the a bit less than 20mm deeper pentax mount, but the outside male bayonet is curious. Also, to use a m42 lens on a rangeffinder body without coupling to the rangefinder makes little sense. A Novoflex ring is another possibility, but it lacks the usual locating notch

The Canon 7 had both an M39 and a bayonet mount for the 50mm 0.95 lens.

The distance between the two mounts in the camera is far less than in this adapter. The 50 0.95, if it fit, would not reach infinity focus.
I recall reading about an SLR with male bayonet on the camera and female on the lenses, forgot what it is...

The only screw threads are a female Leica 39mm on the front and a male Leica 39mm on the rear -- which makes no sense to me. I assume that the male thread is the rear of the adapter and meant to connect to a camera -- but maybe not!!!

Could be for a macro bellows? To enable a screw mount camera to be used an M mount bellows?

That what it looks like to me .
Contax & Kiev also use the mount .
Thickness is about right too .
They made/make two different ones , this one that would adapt the 35mm , 85mm and 135mm to a L39 camera .
Another type also had the extra bayonet mount on the inside and spring lock on the outside for the 50mm .
I can't find the one that doesn't do the 50mm lens here at the moment , but here's a picture of one that does the lot .
The bayonet on the adapter fit's into the lens to lock it on , rather than the other way around .

After some digging, it appears that you have solved the puzzle. Here is a Contax/RF to L39 adapter -- looks almost the same as what I have. THANKS.
