This is a sale from a family ownership. The Leica was bought in 1950 in Milan by the father of the seller, an italian lady (in her seventies now) from Milan. All items located in Milan.
The camera has been lying unused in the camera cabinet for the last 25 years, so the first step before selling was a complete CLA service (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust) by Mr. Amedeo Meletti of Zoom Service in Bologna, Italy, specialized in Leica.
Invoice and service sheets from Zoom Service are available.
- Complete internal cleaning of the housing
- Escapement for slow shutter speeds overhauled
- Transparent mirror of the rangefinder replaced, optical parts cleaned and viewfinder system adjusted
- Function check of slow and fast shutter speeds
- Shutter remains open in position T
- Both shutter cloths without wear
- Film transport checked and tested
- Function of the R-position ok
- Rare sharkskin leather horizontal without signs of wear
- Slight traces of corrosion on the chrome plating, typical for the year of manufacture (1949)
- Summitar 50mm/2: Aperture of the lens cleaned
- Leica viewfinder VIOOH, cleaned and prisms glued in
