The 2c certainly exists in black with oval name plate and rectangular name plate, made until somewhere in the early 70ties. After that Leitz thought they'd sell more of them if they made them grey. There is no difference between the black and the grey versions, except the black version should have the clamping system for the Leitz easels and the older versions often have the light box underneath the baseboard. The grey version is more likely to come with the Focotar-2 100mm. The fact the grey version is newer hardly means it is better. It just depends of the history of each enlarger. I have a black 2c that is like new, every single part of it.
