Leica Elmar-C 90mm f/4 help please

I just bought the Elmar-C 90mm f/4 on another forum. The seller tells me the filter size is 5.5 and that I can buy a 5.5-39mm adapter to attach a filter.

Did this lens come with a retaining ring for this 5.5 drop in filter? If so who sells the ring?

I’m trying to keep this lens as compact and simple as possible.

Here's one on ebay ....but the 39mm adapter is great if you have other leica lenses.
