Looking for this flash bracket and seeing mostly 3/8 version with none of my Leicas having that thread mount (including one Barnack).

Has anyone done conversion to 1/4 screw ? Is the original screw held in place by easily removable washer ? So it can be swapped with 1/4 which in itself would not be a big deal to machine new to match original shape.

One or two of my Barnaks had a 3/8 to 1/4 insert already in there...didn't notice this for years...the insert screws out to leave you with original 3/8th. I have a ctoom that may be 1/4, I'll have to find it and confirm when I'm home later tonight.

I can't convert M5 or MD2 (and M4 in the planning). Two other barracks I have do have reducer in, so that is a non issue, but my main target for this bracket is actually MD2 with Voigtlander 15. I basically need to confirm if 3/8 screws is easy to remove.

In this photo:

Looks like the screw simply unscrews. For use in a a thread-mount, the hole is elongated to accommodate for the camera length change between IIIb and IIIc. Other photos show a retaining ring that would hold the screw - but I think it's still designed to be moved from one of those holes to the other. So, if you had one with the bigger screw, you could probably easily swap it for one from another bracket (or make one from a 1/4-20 screw).
