Leica Collapsible Summitar Screw Mount 50mm f/2.0 Lens Serial number 506745 with Leica yellow 1 filter, Leica shade and front cap in good condition. There is a very small scuff or scratch on the front glass. The last time I used it, the lens produced excellent pictures, but it does show some wear with very minor scuffs. The lens has no major cosmetic imperfections like dents and major scratches. There is no fungus or haze visible, and the focusing and aperture rings operate very smoothly. The 10 aperture blades move properly.

The lens aperture ring was just serviced, cleaned of old grease, regressed and reassembled. So, you should be very pleased with this lens condition.

The sun shade is also collapsible, and shows definite usage, but that is cosmetic and the shade operates correctly. It does attach to the lens securely.

The lens also comes with a Leica lens cap, and a Leica yellow 1 filter in excellent condition that screws on nicely to the front of the lens.

Thanks

We should be helpful to the new member. Hopefully, the gear will sell and then maybe they’ll stick around.

And to the OP - as madNbad said, you missed adding a price.

To the OP, you need to have a minimum number of post (20?) before you can send or receive private messages. Hope this helps. Welcome to the forum!

Not correct.
Anyone can receive Private Conversations, and participate in them once received. The restriction is on the ability to start them.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew there were some restrictions but wasn’t quite sure.

This is my favorite Leica lens of all time. It is just a jewel. I got mine in 1970, used, and it is still such a joy to use. I wouldn't let this pass if you're thinking about it. It is just brilliant for portraiture.

I agree that the Summitar is great for portraits, even informal street ones. Mine is a coated 1949 model with the modern aperture scales. My dad bought it in Guam in 1949. Here is a gent in Kathmandu. Note with the field curvature, his face is in focus and so are the vegetables at the bottom of the frame.
