I find myself owning two 35mm Summicron lenses and would like to sell the brand new 11674 version which I just bought and received in March. Made in Wetzlar. This lens has only been mounted on a camera for a few hours. I find this latest version of the 35 asph. Summicron no better in performance than the previous version which I also own. (11879 it is called.) I mistakenly kept the new one too long to be able to return it so I'm having to sell it like a used lens. $3000 is my price or make an offer close to that. You get everything that comes with the new $3900 lens from one of the big stores. Square screw-on shade, screw on ring that hides the hood threads when the shade is off. All documents, boxes, leather pouch, hood cover, front and back caps. Everything is new. I like the older version of the lens a little better since it is a little more compact than the 11674, especially when the both hoods are mounted. As I get older I also find it a little easier to read lens marking on a black lens than on the silver chrome. I've read that the newest one performs better on digital Leicas but I only shoot film so I am happy with the older lens. I will ship insured to CONUS.

I am interested in this lens. Can you say where you purchased it from? Since you bought it new, is the Leica warranty still valid? Are the glass and the mechanics perfect since you only mounted it for a few hours? I’m looking forward to your reply. - Mike

Purchased from Setadel in Toronto. Warranty papers are all still in the box. Lens is as perfect as when I opened the box. I prefer the appearance of the other lens is the only reason I'm selling.

Thanks for the quick response. I have been looking for a good copy of the earlier version with no luck so I’m going to go ahead an purchase the 11674. As long as you can assure me that you haven’t filled out the warranty card or registered the lens with Leica online, I’d like to purchase the lens. Are you able to ship overnight? I need the lens for an upcoming trip. I’m in Florida. -Mike

I did not fill out the warranty card (it's actually a booklet.). I just read through the booklet and it says in order to get warranty service you need to submit the warranty booklet with stamp or signature of the dealer--Setadel-- and date of purchase. But Setadel didn't fill out the card so I don't know if that is a problem. Usually people want to get the blank card so they can put their own name on it. This warranty does not say that it is only good for original purchaser. You should contact Leica USA and see if they are ok with this.
I can ship overnight and will do so after hearing from you that you are satisfied with the response from Leica USA.

It is called a private Conversation on Photrio - click on his screen name, and you should see "Start a Conversation.
You should be able to start a Conversation, and NightPix should be able to respond to it, but both of you are close to the low post count threshold for using the Conversation function, so if this doesn't work, post here and we can ask Sean to turn the function on for you. In the meantime, you may wish to edit out your email and PayPal address from public posts. If your editing time window is closed, just ask and we can do that for you.

Thanks. I was able to edit out my email etc. Now I'll start conversation with NightPix.
