I am selling a Leitz 3.5 cm Summaron in Leica thread mount. For those not aware, this is one of the most popular and highly regarded wide angle lenses for rangefinders, yet it retains affordability (by the standards of rangefinder lenses). One remarkable characteristic of the Summaron, other than the expected high optical and mechanical quality, is the fact that it is particularly light and compact, even by the standards of more modern LTM lenses of similar focal length. The serial number of this example is 780304 indicating the year of production as 1950.
The condition of this lens is excellent both cosmetically and optically. The glass is clear, clean, and otherwise problem-free. The mechanical motions are smooth and accurate. The cosmetic condition is very good with only bare signs of considered occasional use through the years, and there are no engravings. There is a tiny bit of scoring or perhaps oil on the tips of the iris blades, but this is quite common on vintage lenses and has no impact on performance.
Sold as shown with a generic rear cap and no front cap (the front surface will be well-protected on shipping).
Price: $325.00 plus insured shipping.
