Leica 135mm Hektar f/4.5 Serial number1131640

Just inherited a Leica 135 Hektar f/4.5 serial number 1131640. Here is my question? I looked online and found two filter sizes for the lens, the most "popular" seems to be 39mm so ordered a 39mm lens hood for the lens. Well, guess what, not 39mm. I didn't measure the lens before ordering as I didn't yet have the lens, should have waited.

I now have the lens. I don't have a caliper so am just using a millimeter metal ruler. The inside dimension of the filter threads measures 33mm, can't find any info. for a hektar, or lens hood, or filter of that size. I also can't find a step up ring from 33mm to 39mm that would fix my issue.

Any help would be helpful.

The size for the 135 Hektor should be A36.

Thank you for your reply, I wish that were the case, I have 36mm filters, they are too large. I have never seen a Hektar with this size filter threads, this is why I posted here to find help. I have found, in my bag of very old stuff, a series 5 adapter ring, not quite right, not quite the right thread pitch, but will just screw in, dangerous, but temporary. This allows a series 5 lens hood to be attached, so for now I am OK, Not ideal however. I will be going to Carpinteria, Ca. soon, where I am moving. Carpinteria is where I have my digital calipers, so will be able to measure exactly. I was hoping, with the serial number, someone who had better Leica knowledge, would be able to look up what exactly I have.

I know the lens isn't a great lens, not looking fora great lens. I have much better Leica lenses. Looking to duplicate what I am doing with my 8x10 doublet lenses in the studio, on the street. Wide open this lens should provide a very nice "glow" that my modern 90mm Leica lens just does not. That said, this lens is reported to have enormous flare, so, want a lens hood attached.

If you have any ideas, or find someone who does, please pass this thread along.

The A36 filter referred to is a push-on filter that fits over the outside of the lens barrel, not a thread-in.

I don't have this lens, but many older lenses that take push on filters have fine threads into which the front element or trim ring is screwed. They look like tiny filter threads, but they aren't.

Leica used codes for their different cameras and accessories. the code for the adapter you're looking for is SOOGZ. There are several for sale on ebay right now.
Just be advised that they are expensive. The lowest priced one currently on ebay is listed for $64.99 US.

You're welcome. I ended up doing the same thing. It will also fit the 5cm ƒ3.5 Elmar.
