I am thinking of trying LED lights for simple portraits. They are cooler to use. They are continuos lights and are color correct. Has anyone try this? The lights are mainly for video but is there any valid reason I can't use them?

I have one and use it frequently for stills both Portraits and tabletop. Works great and no flash to disturb the subject. When I do use it with strobe there is less impact on the subject because the ambient is higher. I also have and use a 5000k indoor grow light for the same reasons. All the same gobo's filters. reflectors, and diffusers can be used with real time feedback. No valid reason not to use them unless you need the strobe to stop action.
