Hello,
I am looking for some feedback from people who use LED cold light source from Heiland Electronic not the Spligrade System.
I am thinking about one to replace my Zone VI Type II VC head which is not very bright and powerfull.
Thanks.
Hi payral:
I am new here. I signed up last night just to answer this post. I received my Heiland Sunday. It is fabulous. I wanted it for two reasons: first and foremost, to reduce printing times for my 16 x 20 exhibition work. I tested it. Result: what took 55secs at F4.5 on a 35mm enlarged to 16 x 20 with my V54 cold light (fluorescent tube lighting) the new Heiland, at full power, gave me 40 secs at F8! Secondly, I wanted dial-in filtration. I had the Aristo cold light VCL-4500 years ago, and times weren't so bad with Kodak cold tone or neutral papers. But after the "fall of Kodak" I switched to Ilford MG WT and the times were through the roof. So, I contacted Aristo and got the V54, which is blue/green combined and could be used with filters - below the lens. I had the V54 for 15 years, but the printing times were killing me, especially because you had to put the filters under the lens, which doubles times, and as you know requires another doubling of time with filters #4 and above. So, I researched the Heiland, and when Omer at Cat Labs said I could return it if not satisfied, I bought it. NOTE: I did not buy all the computer/split grade stuff. Just the 4 x 5 head that fits my Beseler 4 x 5 V-XL and the little dial in controller. I hope this long babble helps you...Ric Savid
