Learning and experimental

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, and I'm the process of winding down my photographic life.

I've almost sold, given away or scrapped, my equipment, from a complete home made laboratory, to camera and enlargers, 1/2 plate, medium and 35mm stuff.
I mixed my own chemistry, and if anyone is interested in recopies, I can try to dig them out.
I also used Fuji film and chemistry, for the lab, where I had PH equipment, accurate temperature control, and negative test equipment (densitometer, which is for sale UK)

I hope this doesn't seem like bragging or anything, but it is aimed at any questions (before loosing the memories ) I may be able to answer in experimental film and print.

Let's see what happens?

There are lots of people with questions here and lots of people with answers. You can jump right in.

I'd like to know what you mean by "experimental" film and print. Most people are stuck on whatever they want to consider the "right" way to do things - but I find sometimes there are more interesting things that can be done.

Hi D,
I spent most of my time learning the proper way to photography, e,g, Zone system, chemistry, lightmeters etc.
I spent a lot of time buying odd lenses like aerial photography, freznel etc, and adapting them for different uses like enlarger or camera.
Bouncing the light using surface mirrors.
Computer timed colour filters.
Contact print to print.
In fact any idea I had would be played with.

This was a great time for me, and this is bringing it back to me.

Little story: I had been learning to use a Weston light meter, and the next day loaded a film in my litte ME super, went out of the farm workshop, that I used and decided to photograph an old shed in the next field.
Can you imaging my delight when this happened? (attached)

I know I would've been very pleased to get that.

Well, you will find some people here who like to experiment with odd film and with unusual cameras. You could consider it a bit of a photographic subculture. It's a broad discipline and lots of room for all kinds of particular interests.
