Leaf shutters

Hi gang! I have a question about storing cameras with leaf shutters. I have a number of folders from the 1950s, Voightlanders, Daiichi, Agfa, etc. How should I set the shutter speed when the camera is not going to be used for a while? Should I set the dial(s) at a certain speed, or does it not make a difference? I fire them at all shutter speeds, occasionally, to keep them loose. Thanks!

Don't leave them at the maximum two speeds, because some shutters are designed such that an extra heavy spring kicks in to get the top one or two speeds, but other than that, it shouldn't matter. It is good practice to fire the shutter at all speeds occasionally to keep things from getting stuck, as you've been doing.
