Quite an interesting episode, which I’d think would interest at least some of you guys here.

And nice to hear Photo Engineers name mentioned with such reverence.

Nick Brandret talks, among other things, about his experiments and experience in wet plate coating and the history of the process.

Oh my, I did not know I got a mention. I know that Nick did the interview and I have it bookmarked but have not listened to it yet.

Thanks for the heads up. I do work with Nick and Mark a lot.

The name is based on a historic Kodak publication:
http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Kodakery
The name was also used for the Canadian Kodak internal newsletter - as early as the 1970s, IIRC.
Edit - actually as early as the 1960s.
This is from an issue in 1968:

I know and it is stated in the link, but more likely that audio magazine refers to the public magazine.

The link actually indicates that the name was used in the 1990s for the internal magazine - my experience is that, at least for the Canadian Kodak subsidiary, it has a much longer history than that.
I can say that seeing the name on the screen here brings back memories.

The "Kodakery" newsletter was used from the time of George Eastman for the internal news magazine.

Now that I'm at it, Bob Shanebrook was on Studio C-41 on the third of March. I personally find the interviewers meandering, longwinded and fumbling questions and followups irritating, but Mr. Shanebrook took it in stride and said some very interesting stuff.
