okay this one is a long shot but some may have some of these laying about or and old broken large format camera back that I can rob them from. What I am looking for is the leaf springs that hold the moveable part of a back the larger the format the better i am building a 11X14 back. it is the metal part in the picture I am looking for.
Thanks

Ken Hough (on Facebook, not here) was a Deardorff restoration guy before his health made him retire. I have bought bit's a pieces from him in the past. My 8x10 ground glass retainers in my 8x10 B&J are Deardorff parts. https://www.facebook.com/ken.hough.9

I have a couple of spare 8 X 10 springs, if they'll do. Look about the same as the picture.

The hard part is getting them to you. Once off the back that I have no use for, they should fit into a USPS padded envelop. I would include the screws and, if you want, the fittings holding the ground glass.
Say $11.00 PayPal, which would include the shipping. Here's a picture of them still on the back:

My Dad built me an 8x10 back for a old 11x14 camera I had years ago. He came up with an elegant solution that worked great. He fashioned springs out of thin flat strips of Hickory wood. They looked beautiful and worked great . He even made a bail of sorts that allowed me to lock the ground glass open to insert the film holder without jostling the camera. He used nothing but wood, titebond wood glue, and brass nails. I ground my own glass with lapidary abrasives. I sold the camera. I wish I had taken a photo.

The springs and the pins that go with them have been mailed USPS. Tracking Number is 9505 5145 4948 9077 1490 93. The expected delivery date is Thursday 3/21/2019. Please let me know if there is any problem with delivery or with the springs.
