Is it possible to use a standard Seal Mount Press for laminating certain types of licenses (fishing, medical, hunting, etc.)? The laminator at work only uses a very, very thin plastic over the document which doesn't offer much in the way of protection. Thanks in advance.

The heat-activated plastic used in these laminators comes in different sizes and thicknesses. I have used the smaller "pouches" and a common laundry iron to seal small cards, etc. So I don't see why not. But use release paper against the platen, as the plastic adhesive will bleed.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

You might want to be careful when it comes to licenses and whatnot. Make sure you check on the policies regarding lamination. For example, most birth certificates up here in canada have, clearly stated on them, the declaration that laminating said document invalidates it as an official document. Don't laminate any government issued paperwork before making sure that doesn't apply to them as well. It'd really suck to have to replace those documents, since some of them are a pain to replace.
